What is meaning?
Some words have meaning, some not. Articles have a function in the sentence but
they do not have meaning for example.
Sentence has meaning. A paragraph, a scholarly article, a book may have meaning.
The meaning of an article or a book may be called subject. Subject is larger
and deeper than the meaning of a sentence. The meaning of a book is larger and deeper
than its subject also. Maybe it is more subjective though.
How can ve decide whether a semantic representation of the meaning of a sentence is precise?
If the semantic representation of the sentence gives the same answers
to the questions what, when, where, who, which, how
as a person who answers these questions according to the given sentence,
the semantic representation is precise.
Meaning is the answers to all the questions that can be coherently asked.
